The Malda'Ældon (Our family who follow the golden light) are the most open and friendly of their kind. Apart from the traders of Fairport, most gold elves travel to other lands as part of their coming-of-age ceremony. They are generally golden-haired and green-eyed, with very pale complexions the color of new cream. No matter how much time they spend under Ord's sun, they do not tan. Gold elves prefer to wear blues, greens, and yellows and often dwell in homes built along the coast of the Northern territories of the Silver Reach. While not absolute, most gold elves frown upon killing animals for food or materials. Most products created by gold elves that would normally made of leather are leaf weave instead.
Gold Elves venerate the Court of Stars and the guiding lights of the Elven Pantheon, with a particular focus on Maldagalad as their guiding light. Though most of the Malda'Ældon nation was highly diffused, they considered Yarethian to be their lord, and his authority was rarely questioned.
It was the elves who originally brought the craft of wizardry to the sphere, and gold elves maintained a strong tradition in the art. Most gold elves are at least somewhat practiced in wizardry and have a rudimentary understanding of the methods of harnessing arcane magic.
Gold Elves are exceptional sailors and craftsmen. The city of Fairport trades with cultures as far as Danasia and beyond.
